What:

Toronto's Fifth Annual Scotiabank Nuit Blanche. It's an overnight (sunset to sunrise) celebration of contemporary art in galleries, museums and unexpected places. There will be more than 130 destinations all over the city, from alleyways to heritage buildings, to discover great art and city culture.

When: Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 6pm to Sunday, October 3, 2010 at 6am.

Word on the Street Festival 2010

What:

The annual Word on the Street festival celebrates literacy and the written word in cities all over Canada. Toronto's will have author events, presentations, workshops and a great selection of books and magazines for sale. It's Canada's largest book and magazine festival and the events are free.

CBC Culture Days

What: CBC Kicks off Culture Days with a lineup of broadcasts, live events, music and celebrity meet and greets. This event celebrates the art of broadcasting and Culture Days, the largest collective art and cultural public participation campaign in Canada. Stars of Dragon's Den, the Tudors, Being Erica, Heartland, All for One with Debbie Travis, Metro Morning, Steven & Chris, the Current, The National, Hockey Night in Canada and Battle of the Blades will be taking part in this event.
